| Fr Tom and Wendy visit North Qld - Wednesday, 5 November 2014Fr Tom and Wendy Hall had the great joy of visiting North Qld to visit Emerald, Charters Towers, Ingham and Townsville and reunite with friends in parishes along the way. They showed the love of Jesus to St Pauls Charters Towers at the Saturday night and Sunday night worship.
Next week-end Fr Tom, Wendy and the Achor Minsitries team will visit the Brisbane Valley Parish at Toogoolawah.
Fr Tom reminds us this week:
To enable us to be constantly filled with the Spirit we have to have a lot of faith all the time. If we follow Paul’s advice in 1 Thessalonians 5; 16, 17 & 18 by rejoicing always, praying continually and giving thanks in all circumstances, then we will be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will keep us holy and will help us to be ready to meet Jesus when He comes again to judge the world.

| The church at Charers Towers overflowed with love and joy - Wednesday, 5 November 2014 |
| THOUGHT FOR TODAY - Thursday, 16 October 2014
When we act as Jesus’ servants, God wants us to be secret servants. He does not want us to get any honour or glory out of the work we do for Him. He knows that the enemy is ever ready to fill us with pride and stop us being effective servants! One day when we get to heaven, we will get far more of the rewards we need for all that we do for Jesus.

| Easter - Sunday, 20 April 2014

The most wonderful thing about Easter is that as Jesus rose from the dead so all of us who know him personally will one day rise with him and be with Him in heaven for ever.
A very happy and holy Easter to you all. May the Risen Lord bless you abundantly. |
| Good Friday - Monday, 14 April 2014

Father, we thank you for letting your Son pay such a costly price for us and for giving us so much love. We surrender our all to you and trust in you. Willingly we receive all that you have done for us |
| PALM SUNDAY - Sunday, 6 April 2014
Those who cheered Jesus and cried out ‘Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord’, waving Palm branches, on Palm Sunday were soon to cry out ‘ Crucify Him, Crucify Him,’ on Good Friday. What they didn’t realise was that in all His Suffering, pain and humiliation, Jesus was accomplishing the greatest saving act in the history of the world. He was paying the penalty our sins deserve. He died in our place so that we may never die but enjoy life with Him for evermore in heaven. He was setting us all free. Today, as we grasp the palm leaves that have be folded into the shapes of crosses, lets put all our faith and trust in Jesus and accept the free gift of salvation , that He payed for. on the cross Lets be ever so grateful and thank and praise Him with much enthusiasm. |
| Mothering Sunday - Sunday, 23 March 2014

We give thanks for those very special people in our lives- Our Mothers. They are special not only because they bore us and gave birth to us but for the wonderful way they nurtured us and formed us into the people we are. They know their children in a special way like no one else knows them it’s as if they can see right into their hearts. Mothers always love their children even if they turn bad. Our Mother’s love reminds us of God’s love. God can see right into our hearts much more than our mothers can. He knows exactly what we are like but He never stops loving us!
Happy Mothering Sunday!!
Love and God Bless
Fr Tom and Wendy |
| ASH WEDNESDAY : LENT - Sunday, 2 March 2014

It’s only when we are humble that we can draw near to God. Humility draws other people to us and through us to God. The way to avoid the sin of pride and develop humility is to be ever so secretive about the rules we make to keep Lent. Don’t tell anyone about how much extra you are giving. Don’t let them know how long you spent in prayer and all the valuable time you are giving to God. Don’t look miserable and complain how hungry you are because it’s been so long since your last meal. Instead, only let God know what you are giving up. May Jesus’ living presence in you show nothing but happiness and joy, even when your Lenten disciplines make you very tired and very worn out. |
| AUSTRALIA DAY - Friday, 24 January 2014'
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

On Sunday we come together to thank the Lord for this most wonderful country of Australia. I migrated here 62 years ago. I took my family back to England in 1975 and stayed there for six years. During that time we got terribly homesick for Australia. We were so thrilled when the Lord Called us back to this country and provided for us and enabled us to return. This would have to be the best country in the entire world. We enjoy so much freedom and peace. The mateship of Aussies is incredible. We are the friendliest country in the world!!!
Love and God Bless

| Christmas Season - Sunday, 22 December 2013 MERRY CHRISTMAS

Remember our definition of Grace: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Jesus, and all that comes with Him, is God’s Christmas present to the whole world. All that God does for us in Jesus is described in the Bible by this word, Grace. Grace is an overflow of God’s generosity. It is given out to all people freely. We do not have to deserve it, work for it or earn it in any way. Grace is like the Christmas cards which we go on sending out to people who never send any to us
May the Lord Jesus bless you throughout this Christmas season. May the light he brought into this world continue to shine brightly within your lives.
Thank you for your constant support throughout this year.
We wish you many blessings
Love

Welcome to Achor Ministries
Welcome to Achor Ministries
“I will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.
There she will sing as in the days of her youth.” (Hosea 2:15)
“In the seventh chapter of the Book of Joshua we see how the Israelites were defeated at the Battle of Ai because of the sin and disobedience of Achan. The place of this defeat was called the Valley of Achor. “Achor” means “trouble”. Many years later God spoke through His Prophet, Hosea and said, “I will make the valley of Achor (Trouble Valley) a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth”
In the seventies Wendy and I ministered in a valley in the East End of Brighton, England in a Council slum clearance Housing Estate. It was indeed a trouble valley. While we were there God worked powerfully in our midst. The prophecy given to Hosea was given to us and fully fulfilled! This is how God worked: Children came into the Vicarage garden through holes they had made in the fence. We invited them into the house and Wendy taught them to sing scripture songs. They loved the songs and started coming to church. Soon after that their parents joined them. They discovered Jesus and He opened the door of hope for them. Many troubled lives were transformed.
